Glass production literally changed the world! It was the first effective way to keep the outside out while still allowing visibility. Glass is also a key component in the lighting that opened the world after dark to us. Glass has improved our health, our lifestyle, and our safety, and it is most often manufactured in a furnace using natural gas.
