Letter from EGCR’s Chairman

Dear EGCR Attendee

As Chairman of the 36th Eastern Gas Compression Roundtable (EGCR), I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those responsible for making last year’s Roundtable a huge success. It requires many hours of dedicated service from the members of the Executive and General Committees as well as the Resource Leaders and Instructors to make such an event a reality. In addition, I would like to thank the vendors for their continued participation in and support of the Roundtable. It requires a special effort to set up and man their exhibits during the show and we appreciate their efforts. Last but not least, I want to extend my appreciation to all companies who have made a commitment to allow their employees to participate in our training programs at EGCR. Without your involvement, there would be no EGCR.

The EGCR is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to provide the Natural Gas Industry with cost effective training programs focused primarily on engine and compressor maintenance. It is the EGCR’s goal to provide comprehensive training programs to meet the needs of industry groups who are closely involved with Compressor Stations and other associated areas. The Roundtable is a training conference promoted by people directly involved in the oil & gas business for the benefit of those in the industry who wish to take advantage of the learning opportunities that the EGCR provides.

The 2008 Training Program will continue to focus on the Training Tracks that were implemented at last years Roundtable. These Tracks include: Intermediate Gas Engine Maintenance, Intermediate Reciprocating Compressor Maintenance, Electrical Equipment Maintenance, Auxiliary Equipment Maintenance, Introduction to Engine Compressor Analysis and more. Also. for those interested in OEM product specific training or training of a more advanced level ,participants can choose from the training tracks offered by Dresser Rand, ACTT, Caterpillar, Waukesha, and Cameron. For additional information on training please see our 2008 Program Schedule or visit our web site: www.egcr.org for a full listing of our training sessions.

This is an exciting time to be involved in the oil and natural gas business. The increasing demands on the industry to maintain supplies to its customers presents us with new opportunities and challenges. Because of this, we are observing rapidly changing technologies in every facet of our business. We at EGCR recognize these technological advances and are committed to keeping our training programs focused on these changes. However, we also need your help to keep us informed of your training needs. This is your conference and we strongly encourage you to get involved and provide feedback as it relates to our overall training program. We would also like to extend an invitation to you to participate on one of our general committees. For more information on volunteer opportunities ask any of our Executive Committee members for details.

On behalf of EGCR, I encourage you to review our program schedule for 2008 and invite you to join us at our annual Roundtable on May 13th thru 15th. We look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,

Ron Griffin
Chairman 2008 EGCR
